FAQs

Have questions? Here are the most common questions we get.

Am I a good candidate for microblading / microshading?

The best way to know is to come in for a consult. Everyone?s skin quality and condition is different, and there?s no one-size-fits-all answer. In general, skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, chronic acne, and rosacea mean that your skin will not hold pigment well. Excessively oily skin, highly sensitive or thin skin, large pores, or deep wrinkles can also lead to less than desirables outcomes. We will recommend what is best for you.

Will it hurt?

Every person is different, but since this is a form of tattooing you should expect at least a small amount of discomfort. Topical anesthetic will be applied throughout the procedure.

How long does it last?

Every person and skin type is different. In general, your permanent makeup should last anywhere from 9-24 months. Nano brows are a more permanent process, and may last longer, from 1-3 years.

I just got a tan or a sunburn. Should I keep or postpone my appointment?

It?s best to wait until your skin is its normal, most constant color. If you have a sunburn, please wait until you are healed to book, or rebook any appointment already made.

I have had permanent makeup in the past. Can you work with what I have?

The best way to know is to come in for a consult. We often are able to fix errors that have been made by others, or give a fresh look to old makeup. Please be sure to let us know right away if you have had any permanent makeup in the past.

Will prescription acne medication affect the procedure?

The medicine?s effect on your skin means that the work we do will not heal well. Please wait at least one year after discontinuing these medications before tattooing. Retinol and Vitamin A users should discontinue use one month before their procedure.

Will Latisse affect the procedure?

Latisse and other growth-enhancers increase blood flow and can mean excessive bleeding during your procedure! It is very important that you let us know if you have taken Latisse in the past, and that you discontinue use at least 3 months and preferably 6 months before your procedure.

What about Botox?

If you use Botox, get microblading done before you use it, so that your muscles are moving completely. If you use it regularly, please wait three weeks to get your procedure done so the Botox is fully settled in.

What other treatments / conditions are contra-indicated?

  • Hair transplants in the area desired
  • Autoimmune disorders
  • Glaucoma (eyedrops affect eyeliner)
  • Hemophilia
  • Women who are pregnant or nursing
  • Anyone using blood-thinning medications
  • Individuals with diabetes or thyroid issues may take longer to heal

How long will my brows take to heal?

Give it about 2 weeks after your final Touch Up Appointment, especially if you want to show off your new brows on a vacation or at an event.

How will I look right after the procedure?

Immediately after your appointment, your permanent makeup will look darker and more intense than you expect. This will lighten a little bit every day, gradually. Please follow aftercare instructions closely. Failure to follow these instructions may lead to premature fading, scabbing, or scarring.

How do I take care of my new permanent makeup?

Follow the aftercare instructions closely. Failure to follow these instructions may lead to premature fading, scabbing, or scarring.

Is this procedure guaranteed?

We guarantee that our artists are licensed, certified, and well-trained. We guarantee sterile equipment and safe, appropriate pigments. However, since every person is different, we cannot guarantee the work itself. We strive to provide the best service and highest quality work possible. After your first appointment, you may feel that there are asymmetries or errors. Please remember that this is a 2-step process, and the Touch Up Appointment is just as important at the first appointment, because that is where we carefully fine-tune the work.
